Spring 1 2019. Diamond Class Newsletter

A very big welcome to Diamond class page !

  A reminder for everyone...

Reading books need to be bought in every day. They will be changed whenever humanly possible.. If your  book is not changed please read one of your books from home and get your adult to sign your reading record.

Our spellings and times tables tests are on a Friday, as always do your very best to learn what you are given to help you progress even further in your lessons.

PE is on Tuesday and Friday afternoons. You need to have a named indoor and out door PE kit in school at all times. If your trainers and /or kit no longer fit then let your adult know.

Adults as ever...

Feel free to talk to me whenever you need to. I'm usually in school from  8  O'Clock most mornings.

As I'm sure you know we have had great fun so far this year we have looked at Romans in History and we are now looking at our European neighbours. I have to tell you Diamond class our very well travelled, they all have a great understanding of the world in which they live and our place in it.this subject and topic area has always been a firm favourite with year 3 / 4 and this year has been no exception! In science the children have had enormous enjoyment learning all about rocks, fossils and soil

Take a look at our  fab display boards next time you get a chance.

smiley A very big welcome back to school Diamonds old and new. I hope you have all had a brilliant summer break, I am really looking forward to us all getting to know each other.

Well it's a short week for our 1st week back and we have lots of fun things to do...I know a new school year can be daunting but here's a sneak peak to just some of the things we are doing this week.

  • Roman clocks

  • Roman Numerals

  • Roman Mosaics

and lots, lots more. so early night tonight ready for tomorrow.

see you in the morning

Mrs Roberts

Wow what a fantastic 1st week back! we are all getting to know each other a bit more and settling down to our new class. we have started our Roman topic by creating our own Roman mosaics using dried beans and an empty CD case, very effective I'm sure you'll agree. we have also started to explore roman numerals which has been quite a struggle! I hope you all have a restful weekend, on Monday I will be sending the children home with spellings, times- tables and reading books. the children should practice spellings and times- tables daily ready for a test on Friday morning. This first week will only allow 4 practices at home but we also practice daily in school so please don't worry.

Here is a sneaky peak at our Roman art.
