Open Morning:
How lovely to see so many parents at Open Morning. The children really enjoyed having so many visitors and we hope you had an enjoyable morning too.

Parent Questionnaire:
Thanks to those of you who have already returned the parent questionnaires. If you have not already done so, please drop them into the office this week.

Parent Mail:
Please can I remind you to send in your completed contact information sheets into school as soon as possible so that we can set up the ‘Parent Mail’ ready for use in September.

Mrs Higgs Retirement:
Mrs Higgs thoroughly enjoyed her retirement BBQ on Friday evening. The weather was kind to us and she was thrilled to see and chat to 75 past and current parents, Governors and staff who had come along to wish her well.
A grand total of £242.00 was collected from parents, governors and staff.
Many thanks to the parents who contributed to Mrs Higgs’s leaving present. She was presented with a forty pound garden centre token from parents. (She and her husband are keen gardeners and have plans for their garden, now they have more time to spend in it.)
The Governors and staff presented her with a joint membership for the National Trust, two trees for her garden, a bottle of Champagne, chocolates and a lucky dip Lottery ticket (to use up the last two pounds.)

Sainsbury’s and Tesco vouchers.
I was asked to let parents know which resources we got with the tokens which were given to the school. We have just had delivered from Tesco a junior net ball kit with bibs, balls and cones and a polydron class pack of construction shapes. From Sainsbury’s we had a hide-a-way house play centre for the children in class 1.

Thanks to Parents:
During the course of the year many parents give up their time to support the school and provide an extra pair of hands for the teachers when they need them. There are so many things that would be impossible to do without parent helpers and we are always most grateful for all they do which gives all the children additional opportunities.

Thanks to Mrs Templeman, for all her hard work shopping for and organizing the ‘Lets Get Cooking’ activities throughout the school. Thanks also for doing all the shopping for the year 4 leavers BBQ and the BBQ for Mrs Higgs and for the loan of her patio tables and chairs.
Mr and Mrs Bell for the loan of their BBQ.
Mr and Mrs Woolard for the loan of their patio tables and chairs
Mrs Fleckney for providing us with Healthy Tuck shop all this year.
Mrs Stratford for all the swimming sessions she has helped with this year and also to
Mrs Redman and Mrs Collard who have helped with swimming.
Mrs Dunning for all the input she has had in sports activities and in particular for running the Bike-ability sessions which the children enjoyed so much.
Miss Wright for her support with class 3 art and design technology and also admin jobs she has helped with.
Thanks to all the parents who helped on Roman day and with enrichment morning and afternoon activities.

Change of time for part time children:
As from September the part time children will now be collected at 12 o’clock instead of 11:30. This is in line with the Government expectation that nursery places should now be offered for 15 hours per week.

Have a lovely summer I look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Thursday 3rd September.
