06 July 2009
It does not seem possible that we are nearly at the
end of another school year. Here are a few last reminders about events
during the last two weeks. Please can I remind you that hats, sunscreen
and lots of bottled water are a must at this time of year and
particularly when we are doing activities or going on trips. Your child’
school report will be sent home tomorrow, please acknowledge receipt of
report by returning form which will accompany it.
Student Voice Conference:
Mrs White will be taking three members of the school council to the
Student Voice Conference at Cedars Upper School, tomorrow (Tuesday 7th
July.)
Transfer Day / New classes
Children transferring to Fulbrook Middle school will need to be
taken to and collected from Fulbrook on Wednesday 8th July.
(Did you return your forms to Fulbrook?) Children who are going to other
middle schools will be expected at Ridgmont as usual. Children who are
changing classes in September will be spending all morning in their new
class with their new teachers. Part time children will be having a Teddy
Bears Picnic. Remember to bring a special bear!
Open Morning:
We are looking forward to seeing lots of
parents on open morning this Thursday 9th July. The children
will be singing and dancing and ‘Lets Get Cooking’ club will be
providing the refreshments.
Healthy Schools Magic Show:
At 1:30 the children will be enjoying the
Magic Show this year the theme is ‘Change for Life.’
Year 4 BBQ
All the year 4 children from the other local lower schools will be
joining us for our annual leavers BBQ starting at 6:30. Please collect
children at 8pm.
Bugsy Malone:
On Monday 13th July, all our class 3 children have
been invited to watch Fulbrook Middle School’s performance of ‘Bugsy
Malone’
The children will
be taken from Ridgmont to Fulbrook Middle School by minibus at about
1.30pm for the performance at 1.45pm. They should be wearing their usual
school uniform. Parents should collect their children from Fulbrook
at 3.35 pm.
Please complete and
return the permission slip below and let us know who will be collecting
your child at the end of the day. (Water Bottles Please)
Parent Questionnaire: (form included)
Every year we send out a parent questionnaire to seek the views of
the parents (the children will be filling in theirs at school.) It is
really important that we get as many responses as possible so please
return them to school before the end of term.
Parent Mail: (form included, not year yr 4 children)
You may remember that we asked you all
about ‘Parent Mail’ which is keeping in touch with parents by text
messaging and e-mail. The response we had was very positive and this
service will be set up ready for September. (Please return completed
forms by Monday 13th July so this can be organised.)
Uniform:
Please donate any uniform that your children have grown out of.
Parents find it really useful to be able to make use of the opportunity
to purchase good quality second hand clothing very cheaply. (Donation to
school fund).
